Today I was fortunate to get another 9 mile run in. Fortunate because yesterday I left the house for the school run on a typical grey winter day and by the time I arrived at school two inches of snow had fallen. Suffice to say that I was not cycling anywhere in such weather so I had to be sure to get a good swim in that night and a good, long run in today.
Map
I appear to have found my groove, running at around 5.5 mph – hardly athletic prowess but I have never been a particularly strong runner. Cycling comes easiest to me and swimming is easy for me to push in terms of distance. With running I have hit a plateau here, between 9 and 11 miles so when I get to my weekly long run I want to push through the half marathon distance next. It is now a matter of mental strength more than anything.
